When children’s science experiments interact with mind-blowing photography you get the work of Caleb Charland. He demonstrates lessons in physics and mathematics by photographing everyday objects like matches, pens, and mirrors. In order to create the brilliant pictures he uses multiple exposures to create the art. Charland protests that he has never used photoshop and does all of his work with a view camera on 4x5 film. The simplicity and honesty of his work is what I find most amazing. Using multiple disciplines to create his art evokes a sense of curiosity in all of us and that is PURDYcool.
