I can’t get enough of Banksy Street Art so I decided once again to highlight more of my favorite work from him. With art in cities around the world Banksy has brought his art to the center of pop-culture and made it PURDYiconic. Love it…

Banksy Street Art

For those of you who don’t know who Banksy is yet let me enlighten you. He is a world-reknowned british graffiti artist who travels the world to bring his opinionated art to the streets. He has been known for scaling buildings and climbing fences in order to put up life-sized stenciled images that satirize modern society’s mores and its inherent political power structures.

His work has created controversies, been stolen and erased from public building but nonetheless has intrigued people around the world. Many people have even tried to take credit for the mysterious artist’s work including an 89-year-old grandmother from North London. Banksy’s work has caused some problems with other street artists including Robbo, an old school graffiti legend, who has had an ongoing feud with Banksy.

Words from the man himself gives one an idea of what Banksy street art is trying to accomplish. “You can stick all my shit in Tate Modern and have an opening with Tony Blair and Kate Moss on roller blades handing out vol-au-vents and it wouldn’t be as exciting as it is when you go out and paint something big where you shouldn’t”

Banksy Street Art is not meant to be admired as much as it is meant to open the public’s eyes and I think that’s PURDYcool. His work is in cities all over the world so look for it in a town nearest you! You can also follow the artist and his work on Twitter @BanksyStreetArt
